The New Haven Skating Club was founded in 1912 and is one of the oldest skating clubs in the United States. The Rinks at Shelton, CT is its home ice skating rink. Our mission is to foster the continued growth of recreational and competitive figure skating and to provide our skating members with the resources they need to develop while at the same time encouraging fun, fitness, safety and good sportsmanship. We provide opportunities to take US Figure Skating tests and to compete and perform in events sanctioned by US Figure Skating.
The New Haven Skating Club sponsors an annual Holiday Ice Extravaganza in December of each year and an awards dinner in June of each year.

The Rinks at Shelton is offering Learn to Skate sessions for beginners of all ages as well as for more experience skaters who wish to take group lessons. The Winter 2009 Session starts on January 3, 2009 and ends on February 28, 2009. Each session consists of a 25 minute instructional class and 25 minute practice time. Summer Figure Skating Academy |

The Rinks at Shelton has expanded its very popular Summer Figure Skating Academy to three weekly sessions for 2009. The Academy is designed for Learn to Skate Level 2 through Novice level Skaters. Each session includes beginning through advanced moves in the field steps and patterns, beginning through advanced Ice Dance steps and patterns, basic and advanced jumps, stroking techniques and off-ice conditioning. Freestyle Skate Subscriptions |

The Rinks at Shelton offers weekday and weekend subscription freestyle sessions for those skaters requiring full ice practice.
